Over 40 years of experience growing California Almonds
Farming in California's Central Valley
Sperry Farms is a family run almond ranch, founded in 1974 by patriarch, Jeff Sperry. Located in the rolling hills of the Northern San Joaquin Valley, our farms are within miles of the Tuolumne and Merced Rivers, in both Stanislaus and Merced Counties of California. For over 40 years, Sperry Farms has farmed these fertile soils of the San Joaquin Valley. During this time, the farm has strived to bring high quality almonds to the marketplace, while maintaining a deep respect for both the employees that work our fields as well as respect for the land we are so privileged to farm.

Regenerative Farming
Sperry Farms has a long history of implementing regenerative farming practices into our operation, well before the term "regenerative" was even a buzz word. For the past 15 growing seasons, common practices have included maintaining winter native vegetation down our tree rows, compost applications, and cover crop plantings have all been seasonally used on our farm.
In 2019, we emabarked on a 6 year organic farming transition at our 125 acre Roberts Ferry Ranch. We have recently transitioned back to a conventional farming platform at this ranch, but continue to expand and build on our commitment to grow healthy almonds for our global customers all the while improving soil health in our orchards. During this 6 year timeframe, we planted over 300 CA native plants that would improve year around native pollinators and give habitat to beneficial insects.
Water infiltration rates on our farm have been improving with the implementation of living roots in our orchard during the winter and spring months. This usually leads to water savings on the front side of our irrigation season. This is very important, considering most of our ranches water is supplied by groundwater and is under heavy regulation through SGMA.
